Teller

SUMMARY / INTRODUCTION

The Teller delivers accurate, secure, and efficient cash-counter services while ensuring a positive customer experience. The role supports branch performance through accurate transaction processing, timely service, and high customer-service standards. It also contributes to regulatory compliance, operational controls, and the promotion of FAB products and digital banking channels.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Process cash deposits, withdrawals, cheque deposits, transfers, foreign-currency transactions, and other teller requests accurately and efficiently.
• Reconcile daily cash, valuables, vault balances, and transaction records, addressing any discrepancies promptly.
• Manage manager’s cheques, demand drafts, telegraphic transfers, clearing items, returned items, and related transactions.
• Deliver professional and efficient customer service while supporting branch service and quality targets.
• Comply with FAB policies, KYC, AML, operational-risk controls, information-security standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Identify suspicious or unusual transactions and escalate them promptly to the appropriate supervisor or manager.
• Promote FAB’s ATM, CDM, mobile, and online banking channels and support customers in adopting digital services.

• Refer identified customer needs and potential product opportunities to appropriate branch or sales colleagues.
   

  REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS

• Required
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years’ banking experience in a teller or cashier role.
• Strong knowledge of cash handling, teller operations, reconciliation, and transaction processing.
• Understanding of KYC, AML, fraud prevention, operational risk, and regulatory requirements.
• High level of accuracy, integrity, and attention to detail.
• Strong customer-service and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a high-volume, accuracy-critical environment.
  Preferred / Beneficial
• Previous experience within a retail banking branch environment.
• Familiarity with foreign-currency transactions, clearing, demand drafts, telegraphic transfers, or vault operations.
• Experience supporting branch service KPIs and identifying customer referral opportunities.
• Familiarity with digital banking channels, including ATMs, CDMs, mobile banking, and online banking.
